We started our Westhills Television Network two years ago and have reached so many. When I began looking for editing software, WeVideo was one of the first ones I tried. I was impressed with how quickly it was to learn. I also love the fact that it is cloud based, and the customer service is outstanding. So, my favorite creation is all of them. Here is a like to our page and you will find our videos at the bottom. Thanks, WeVideo! https://www.westhills.mcstn.net/westhillstelevisionnetwork
Students experimented with software to break the barrier of dread for video recording in an attempt to edit the video with wevideo
These are so much fun!
I am fortunate to work with this amazing music teacher, Jeong Hong. Ms. Hong has been teaching at Ramirez Thomas Elementary School of Santa Fe Public Schools (SFPS) since 2015. In 2018, she received Teacher Who Inspires Award by Partners In Education of SFPS. Ms. Hong is also a board certified educator.
WeVideo has differentiated storyboards for students to work with based on their familiarity with video editing. Students can start out in the Storyboard and move on up to the Timeline mode when they are ready for more layers of video, narration and audio.
WeVideo can also Record from WebCam for an authentic self assessment or reflection, all captured on video!
This year for sure I have had to adapt being a teacher who is teaching remotely to students who are in person and learning remotely. I had to adjust my entire 8th grade curriculum and WeVideo to the rescue we are doing a media creation class. Students have created awesome instructional videos using the platform. I even have a pair working on creating a mini documentary about life as a student during the pandemic. Here is a link to one of the instructional videos: https://youtu.be/y5fIMMQ8Xwo?list=PLD5rYSFNRHAF9gRMcAvlNaBuA65xW5MBP

I am fortunate to work with this administrative assistant and teacher alternate
One of the first projects my students work on is a History of Broadcasting research project. This is an example from a couple of students. I enjoy seeing which skills they’ve incorporated and determining how they can go even further with the software.
I am fortunate to work with this amazing art teacher,
And I really appreciate the techniques that have provided us to improve our teaching styles
